My consolation

Yesterday, Mommy and Chad moved the large microwave that has been sitting by the door into the kitchen. I used to love to sit on that microwave since it was in front of the window, and allowed me to view the world..I thought to myself this is awesome. It was one of my favorite places to sit. However, Mommy kindly moved one of my perches over the window so now, I can still look out. However, I am not going to let her know that I don't plan to sit on it. It was a little upsetting but I consoled myself by playing with the mouse on the string.

Hi Fans

Well, I spent a lot of time sleeping yesterday,,,not alot going on here, but I did spend a few minutes on a play break.  We cats ordinarily sleep about 18 hours a day, about the same as are big brothers in Africa. Some days I am more awake than others though, and I will engage with Mommy and those around me. Let's face it we are just more invested in sleeping than the average human being. I do have days when I am sleepy, and days when I am more awake. It is just one of the things that I am known for. I decided to post my picture of one of the times when I was actually awake!!

More nice weather

I love these cool days, I enjoy the sunshine, and I enjoy sitting on movie. Especially when she wears her fuzzy pyjamas. Anyway, As all cats know, we love warmth, and when it is not humid, and I can sit on Mom, I am pretty happy. It is just one of the good things that life has to offer when you are a kitty. It will be a great day today, and I am really going to like it. I am so happy when I can just kick back, relax,,,and take a snooze. It is just one of the great ways to enjoy my life. It is almost as good as Pounce!

My Day

Well today, was a slow day. Mommy was in the chair most of the day, and I was on her lap. I really like it when she works on her tablet, as opposed to the computer because that way, I get more laptime. I really love to snuggle with Mommy, and when she is on the tablet, there is so much more laptime for me!! Of course we all know that cats can and will sleep 18 hours per day so I am not exception to this rule!

Kickin Back

I am kickin back today. Yesterday, Jax was here,a nd I had to put up ith him seeking all of mommy's attention. Well Thank God it is over. In fact, I had to race over to the window today, when I heard his name. Just the sound of his name is enough to make me break into a cold sweat. Jax is just one of the dog people that sounds alarm bells to me. I know everyone thinks Jax is really cute, but to me he is a threat with a big mouth!! FYI OK< maybe he isn't so bad, he likes cats! Supposedly, anyway! Hmm, we will see!

Prescription Pet Food Scam or worth it?

As Mommy mentioned previously I have been on a special blend of  Cat chow. It is the Royal Canin SO blend. Recently, we were wondering if I had to stay on this food all of my life. I know it costs Mommy a fortune, actually, our friend Steve has been paying for it, and the research seems to be divided on this. Some people think commercial SO blend catfood is a bit of scam and it costs big money over time. I think Mommy is always going to consult with the vet about what kind of wet food, I can try. The big thing is to keep urinary crystals from forming.

Hills Diet C/D

One of the possibilities is Hills Science Diet C/D which is a wet food that prevents crystals from forming. However, upon price comparison, the Royal Canin when purchased from a reputable seller like Chewy.com is actually cheaper. It is up to you as to which brand to use. Other grain free wet foods might be safe to use, and some cat's have found relief by using raw foods from home.

Mommy Investigates

Luckily, I have a Mommy that is willing to go the extra mile to investigate options for me. I want to save Mommy the most money possible, so she can buy more things for me!

Hi there friends! Those with and without litterpans! I hope that you are all well and enjoying the Fall. I have been on my toes keeping track of mommy and Chad. I just am never really sure what those two are doing, and it always keeps me wondering. I am going to like it when the leaves are falling off the trees, it is going to remind me to chase them. I just missed a pesky squirrel this morning and I really wish I would have seen him. Cats and squirrels are just some of the animals that are around here, There is one that clatters around here on the porch that acts like he owns the place, and I assure you he does not!!! It is Milo's world, and you just live in it!

Back to writing again...Cats and Routine

Sorry, I haven;t written friends, mommy was away for the weekend, and I was busy trying to stay away from Jax, the little brown dog who seems to think it is perfectly fine to crawl into my bed...I repeat, "my bed" and sleep. Jax is a piece of work. Anyway, slowly things have gotten back to normal around here

Cats Appreciate Routine

Cats no matter what age prefer security and routine and like to feel safe in their home. It is just one of the things we enjoy and makes our world a little bit better. I like to get up in the morning slowly, have my breakfast, and hang out and watch TV with mommy. It is just one of the things I do, that makes me feel safe and protected. I also like my food dish in the same place, and to perform our daily routine.

Milo in his office appointment required Security always!

As I promised all my fans, I wanted to show you my office, where I spend the bulk of my day. Yes, I know I am cute! Next time I am going to tell mommy when she takes my picture to clear away the clutter so I can have a place of honor. We already discussed how cats like boxes due to their safety and security, and this cat is no exception to that rule my  friends..

Cats and Boxes

Well anyway, mommy was very kind to me, and offered me my own box at the end of the table. I am loving life and my box! It is the perfect size for me, and my new sleeping place. I think I will show you a picture of my new little home tommorrow. It is not too sunny today, and I think mommy wants to wait for a sunny day to take my pic. The box is being added to my list of favorite places. These would include the bathroom vanity, mommy's lap, the box in the bedroom chair, and the box that contains the microwave that needs to be installed.

What is it with cats and boxes?

Cats like boxes instinctively because they offer safety and security from predators. These are some of the reasons that cats favor boxes over more traiditonal places to sit. It is their own little haven, and shelter from the elements.

I have been more active the past few days because it has been cooler, and boy am I glad! Did you know even my big cousins jungle cats, like lions, tigers, leopards and the like are more active when it is cooler too? I mean it stands to reason..who wants to be running around when it is hot outside. Not I, I will tell you that. I think that I am going to continue to enjoy the Fall. I will get into my old habits of playing and exploring. I don't have to just lie around like a wet blanket. I can look out the window view the birds, and do all kinds of things that I find interesting. It is just one of the things that I wll enjoy. It is just for me and I like it. I just tried to pounce on a bird, and that was a lot of fun. It is just great fun for me!!! Jungle cats beware! You may have to compete with Milo, after all it is my world!

It's Cooler

I am so happy it has been cooler. Now I feel like I won't melt. It is hard on us furry friends when the weather is hot, we only like cool weather. Make sure that you keep my furry brethren hydrated at all times, don;t cheap out on the air conditoners like mommy sometimes does. Would you like to wear a fur coat when it is 80 degrees? I think not. Cats do well when the temperature is below 70 degrees farenheit. We like to be cool and stay cool at all times.

well my birthday was fine. I got a new scratching post with a mouse on Mommy thought it would amuse me. However, I don't think much of it, mommy wanted to show my picture on the new scratching post AKA toy, but I wasn't having it.  This is what I look like in case you have forgotten...he he, take a picture it lasts longer.  The bottom part of the image is me doing my best to escape from the scratching post, toy....No pictures to entertain you...No sirreee...not if I have anything to do with it! Anyway, providing a scratching post is important so your cats can get some exercise, and hopefully if they become invested in a scratching post, they may leave your furniture alone. Mommy can try, but she may not be able to keep me away from the furniture. What can I say? I am like that! Oh yes, I am!

It is finally cooler in here, and I am more than thrilled! It makes me very happy. I am not sweating, and I can resume my normal activities! I have been running around the house all morning. I heard mommy tell Chad that she is giving me a new toy/scratching post. I can't wait. I have been in mourning since mommy threw away my cloth cube, that I used to  play in..Anyway, My birthday was August 31 so this new toy slash scratching post couldn't come at a better time..Happy Birthday to me..Happy Birthday to me..Happy Birthday Dear Milo, Happy Birthday to me!!! Somebody must have spiked this cat's water..!

This is my food, last month I was having some issues, and mommy in her wisdom (koff, koff) took me to the vet. The vet recommended this special food for me. I am really glad it tastes good as I don;t like all food. This food is for cats who developed crystals in their urine and I had some. I am supposed to eat it all the time. I wish to make sure that I have food that is good to eat and will help keep me from developing these crystals in the future, Some cats are suspectible to these problems, stress and genetics can be one fo the reasons why you might develop these. OK, all my feline friends out there, if you are having difficulties using your litter box..make sure your owner takes you to the vet, and use this special chow if it is recommended. It will help you in the future.

OK, one thing you should know about me is that I am kind of a special needs cat. I developed some stones in my urinary tract, last month, and even though it was a traumatic experience for me..Mommy took me to the vet, and got me some of this food. Cats, like myself can develop stones in their bladder and urniary tract, and may need treatment with specialized food. The Royal Canin SO does not taste bad at all, and I like it! That is really good, because I don't like a lot of food. This comes in a dry and wet forumulation and can help with the formulation of kidney stones. Many conditions can cause the development of kidney stones, and these might include stress, genetic suspectibility o other things. I have had some UTI's in the past, nd when I started to cry out when using the litterbox..mommy in her wisdom knew it as time to take me to the vetenarian. The vet wants to keep me on this food. I do want to tell you petowners out there that might be reading my blog to take my fellow cat friends to the vet if they are experiencing pain and problems while using the litterpan. Your vet will know what to do! Take us to the vet before we end up with a blockage!

Mommy went away this past weekend and left me with Chad and Jax.that yappy little dog! I must admit, I do like Jax's company..(but don't tell him that) I will never live it down. I don't want Jax to think I actually like him..Who Knows? He might even try to lick me or something! Jax has a licking fetish I have noticed. He is always licking people's faces, and I do not want him to lick me...no way! I am very particular about my own washing, and I do a fine job of it, I might add!! Jax can stick to licking faces. If he took a page from me, he would learn to wash himself properly.

Last night I had some fun. Mommy let a moth into the house...and I chased it! I had loads of fun trying to catch the blasted little thing. In my kitten hood, those moths would occupy me for hours I would catch them let them fly away...and when they no longer entertained me. I would devour them. We cats need a little extra protein. I think that chasing moths are one of the finer things in life. It is almost as good as stretching out in the windowsill or finding a sunbeam. I am going to add some interesting information about cat's and playing later..One thing that is good about summer...Moths!!

It;s the calm before the storm. Mommy doesn't know, that I know that she is going away for the weekend, and my arch enemy Jax will be here. I think I will be doing a lot of closet sitting, because I just find few things to like about Jax. He sits underneath my table, and slobbers over toys. He eats my food when I am not looking, and he commands people's attention...attention, that you better believe, should be focused on me!! Yeah, it is gonna be a rough few day!

What's the phone number for the nearest asylum?

So, last night mommy and I were doing are normal night time sleeping, when all of sudden, she wakes up saying "Help me, Help me" in a strangled voice. I heard her tell our housemate she was dreaming about being attacked in a restaurant...Of course I know, she was watching Scream...before she went to sleep on Netflix!...Is this woman crazy or what?? Why me? I DO NOT LIKE TO HAVE MY SLEEP RUDELY INTERUPPTED! I think I should have the asylum on speed dial, in case mommy pulls a trick like that again! Silly woman! I thought something terrible was happening to her. Even I know that watching scary movies or TV shows before bed can bring on nightmares!

Well today was a total trauma...my arch enemy Jax is here, along with his noisy owner. I skulked away to my favorite hiding spot,,,until mommy insisted I come out. I might show a picture of Jax tommorrow...but I want an honest opinion...Is he really cuter than me??? Well is he? I don't think SO!!!! Dogs are quite silly in my opinion, and that is the one that matters!

What the heck is going on?

Chad...the man who lives here..is now working outside. He is moving all his equipment and scaring me a little. He makes a lot of noise. As long as he doesn't move any of my stuff,,,I guess it is OK! Chad seems to think I need to be petted when I eat my food..Well, it does make it all taste better when I get some attention..I will agree with that! I hope he doesn't get too hot out there....Well...not my problem! People are sooo silly!! Why doesn't he stay in the AC?

Well today, Mommy was involved with her computer. I tried to lok as adorable as possible to get attention, but mostly I was ignored. I decided to pout and sit in the closet. Let her wonder where I am..I will be snickering to myself..as I sit in my hiding place..Actually, she might be on to this one..I might need to find another place, that she is not so sure about. I will move to it..when it seems right!

When will the Fall ever get here?

I am so tired of it being hot in the house all the time! MOMMY does not turn on the Air Conditioner enough..Doesn't she know we kitties get hot? How would she like to go around in a fur suit all the time? I have to sit on the bathroom vanity or some cooling relief..Mommy, you need to turn on that Air Conditioner!! Maybe if I stare at her long enough..she will get the hint. I think she is a bit slow, I have been trying to get her attention for weeks now. and all I get is the fan and ice cubes in my water bowl..What do I have to do? Come on September!!!!

Mommy's Singing

Well Mommy was singing this morning. I think she thought it was amusing. Her version of "What's new Pussycat?" hurt my eardrums. I thought she would get the message when I laid my earns flat on my head. Apparently, some people are a bit slow!!! Mommy...What the heck? Save your next rendition for when you are in the car please! I can only have so much cacophony in my life!

Well, Mommy did not ask my permission first to bring the Air Conditioner repairman in! These people are stomping all around, and are in and out of the house. Don't they know that I want to sleep?
Now, I am being forced to hide under the bed...Who knows when this torture is going to end? I am so annoyed! She should be glad I am not...the vindictive sort.

Hi I'm Milo, let me give you my vital statistics. I am grey and white, 6 years old stand about 18 inches tall, (when not on my tiptoes) stretching for those delicious Meow Mix Irresitables and weigh about 8.5 pounds. It could be more, but I have been watching my weight! Anyway, I live with my mom, and her roommate in Virginia. My favorite things in no particular order, are Meow Mix Irresitables, My mom's lap, my perch and and my window sill.!
